To check the status of your federal tax refund with the IRS, visit the IRS Where's My Refund page. According to the IRS website most refunds are disbursed in less than 21 days. 

Refunds may be delayed even longer for other reasons. If this happens, you should contact the IRS directly by calling IRS Tele-Tax (800-829-4477) or the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Line (800-829-1040). You may be asked to provide the filing year for the return in question as well as your social security number, the filing status and the expected refund amount.

Once you have confirmed that your federal refund has been released, check the status of your Assisted Refund by visiting taxpayer.jh.sbtpg.com.
